Call for Participation

SemEval-2014, the 8th International Workshop on Semantic Evaluations, an ACL-SIGLEX event, invites participation in a broad range of tasks in the semantic analysis of natural language. The aim of the SemEval series of workshops is to extend the current state-of-the-art in semantic analysis and to help create high quality annotated datasets in a range of increasingly challenging problems in natural language semantics. For more information on SemEval, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SemEval

At SemEval-2014, participants will be able to choose from a wide range of tasks in distributional semantics, semantic similarity, sentiment analysis, semantic parsing, grammar induction, and analysis of clinical text, among others. Participants will be provided with training data sets well in advance to help them develop their systems.

SemEval-2014 is to be co-located with COLING-2014, which will take place in Dublin, Ireland, 23-29 August. The list of tasks with complete descriptions and trial data are now available (see http://alt.qcri.org/semeval2014/ for more detail):

  1. Evaluation of Compositional Distributional Semantic Models on Full Sentences through Semantic Relatedness and Entailment
  2. Grammar Induction for Spoken Dialogue Systems
  3. Cross-Level Semantic Similarity
  4. Aspect Based Sentiment Analysis
  5. L2 Writing Assistant
  6. Supervised Semantic Parsing of Spatial Robot Commands
  7. Analysis of Clinical Text
  8. Broad-Coverage Semantic Dependency Parsing
  9. Sentiment Analysis in Twitter
  10. Multilingual Semantic Textual Similarity
